Worth Knowing.
Real answers about our South Georgia pecan orchards, our family, and the premium pecans that we ship straight to you.
Our story
Worth Pecan Company is a female-owned family business rooted in Worth County, Georgia. We're Brooke and Cayla — cousins and eighth-generation farmers. We started Worth Pecan with our husbands to share the same great South Georgia pecans that our family has always loved with all of you.
We grew up eating these pecans. They were at every family table, every holiday, every occasion that mattered — and plenty of everyday ones too. As kids we picked pecans off the ground in the orchards whenever we wanted an afternoon snack. Pecans this good were meant to be shared, so we started Worth Pecan to bring you pecans that taste as good in your home as they would if you were eating them with us in our orchards.
Our family first put down roots in Worth County in the early 1800s, and we've been here ever since. Eight generations of farmers, each one learning from the last. We hope our children grow up to be ninth generation farmers in Worth County — because this land, and what it grows, is worth passing on.
Worth Pecan Company was selected by the Georgia Department of Economic Development as the featured Georgia Grown product at the SelectUSA Investment Summit, the United States' largest international investment event. It was an honor that reflects the quality of our South Georgia pecans and the strength of our family farm in Worth County, Georgia.
Our orchards
Our orchards are in Worth County, Georgia — the heart of South Georgia pecan country. The region gives our trees everything they need: a long growing season of 250 to 300 frost-free days, mild winters, and the deep, fertile, well-draining coastal plain soils that allow mature pecan tree root systems to absorb the water and nutrients they require. South Georgia doesn't just grow pecans — it grows them the way they're meant to be grown.
Eight generations of farming has taught us that quality starts long before the bag is sealed. It starts with how you tend the trees — with the kind of patience and care that only comes from farming the same land for generations. We harvest and crack everything ourselves and ship directly to you — no distributor, no middleman, just premium South Georgia pecans straight from our orchards to your door.
Pecan trees take seven to ten years to begin producing nuts. You plant a pecan tree not for yourself, but for the generation that comes after you. Some of our trees are over 100 years old — living proof that the generations before us were thinking about the ones that would follow. And we're still planting new trees for our children and for theirs.
Pecan trees are remarkably long-lived — some produce for 300 years or more. We plant every tree knowing it will outlive us, which is why we're still planting new trees for our children and for theirs.
Our pecans
Yes! Pecans are one of the most nutrient-dense, antioxidant-rich snacks you can reach for — and one of the most delicious too. One ounce delivers 3g of fiber to support digestion and gut health, 3g of plant-based protein, and 19 essential vitamins and minerals. Pecans are also completely cholesterol-free, which helps keep your arteries clear and reduces strain on your heart.
Honestly — everything. Our family's pecan pie is the classic, but these pecans are just as good straight out of the bag. We add them to salads, stir them into savory dishes, bake them into everything we can think of, put them out in a bowl at every gathering, and give them as gifts. They're the kind of ingredient that makes everything a little better. For recipes straight from our family kitchen, visit our Worth Cooking page.
Halves are whole, intact pecan halves — beautiful for snacking, gifting, decorating pies, or any time presentation matters. Pieces are smaller broken portions of the same premium pecans — perfect for baking, salads, and cooking where you want that rich pecan flavor with no chopping required. Both come from the same family orchard. Same quality, different form.
We always recommend storing your pecans in the refrigerator — just like Brooke's 95-year-old grandmother does. The most important thing is that you store your pecans in a cool, dry place — your pantry shelf works well for 4–6 months. Refrigerate for 9–12 months, or freeze for up to 2 years. Once you've opened the bag, seal it tight or transfer to an airtight container to keep them at their best.
